The questions people actually ask.
If the answer is no, it says no. Anything not answered here is answered on the product itself, before you pay.
- Do I have to live in Washington?
- No. Ashbrook Medical is in Washington, where Dr. Jackson has practised since 1983, and the shop ships anywhere in the United States. A prescription product is prescribed by an independent licensed clinical provider after an online visit, and only where that provider is licensed to prescribe it.
- Do I need insurance?
- No. Ashbrook is cash pay and no insurance is required.
- Is this the same Ashbrook Medical?
- Yes. The same name since 1983. What has changed is that care is delivered online rather than in a room.
- What can I order?
- Everything on offer is in the shop. Each product states what it is, what it includes and what it costs before you pay.
- Who decides whether a prescription product is appropriate for me?
- Only the independent licensed clinical provider you see in the online visit. Any prescription product in the shop, including any compounded medication, is prescribed solely by an independent licensed clinical provider after an online visit, and only if that provider decides it is appropriate for you. Dr. Jackson does not prescribe it, and neither he nor Ashbrook Medical decides whether you receive it. Nothing on this site is a recommendation that any product is right for you.
- Do I need a prescription first?
- No. A prescription product starts with an online visit with an independent licensed clinical provider, and its page says so before you pay. Everything else ships when you order it.
- Are compounded medications FDA-approved?
- No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed. A compounding pharmacy being licensed or regulated, including a “503A” pharmacy, does not mean the medications it compounds are FDA-approved. In this shop a compounded medication is a prescription product: it is prescribed only by an independent licensed clinical provider after an online visit, and only if that provider decides it is appropriate for you.
- Where do orders ship?
- Within the United States. A prescription product can only be prescribed where the independent provider is licensed to prescribe it.
- Does anyone here earn money when I buy?
- Ashbrook Medical, and Platform Health, which runs this shop for it, earn money when you buy from this shop. When you start an online visit for a prescription product, the independent provider’s service may also pay Platform Health a referral fee. The independent provider decides on their own whether to prescribe, and whether you buy anything here is up to you.
- How do I cancel a subscription?
- From your account. Open Subscriptions and choose Cancel subscription. No phone call is needed.
